Getting a visa anywhere is not easy, and a US visa is no exception. Difficulties already begin when filling out the questionnaire. Even those who have repeatedly applied for a US visa find it difficult to complete the new US visa application form DS-160.

Step 1
The questionnaire must be filled out online on the website of the American Embassy, in English. This procedure is given 15 minutes. To start testing, you need to click the Start New Application button. The questions of the questionnaire are also in English, for those who do not know it, it is better to use a translator. To do this, in the upper right corner of the site, select Russian from the Select tooltip language menu.
Step 2
When filling in the “address” field, indicate it without commas in the following sequence: apartment number (apt. - “apartament”), house number, street, building or block, if any (bld.- “building”). For example, Apt. 424 51 Moskovskaya Street bld. 4. In the City column indicate the city, and in the State / Province column - the region, region, region.
Step 3
In the questionnaire, you can omit the patronymic where it is not required. If you indicated it, it's okay, the main thing is that in the column where you are asked to fill in the last name, first name and patronymic in your native language, indicate them in full.
Step 4
When filling in the phone number, you do not need to indicate 8 (country code), indicate only the area code and phone number.
Step 5
When choosing the type of visa, indicate B1 / B2 if you are going to visit, to a conference, business meeting, exhibition, or just travel, but not work. There are other types of visas for workers.
Step 6
If you have finished filling out the questionnaire, then you have reached the confirmation page. It needs to be printed. If you do not have a printer, the confirmation can be mailed to any email address from where you can print it.
