Crimea is a mysterious peninsula that beckons people. And, of course, a great alternative to a vacation on the Russian coast. Rest in Crimea contains its pros and cons, which I propose to disassemble and make the right choice for yourself.
The first plus is the cleanest sea, a large coastline and various types of beaches: coarse, fine sand, pebbles, stones. The beaches on the west coast are famous for their fine sand and gentle seabed. Closer to the southern coast, sandy-pebble and small-pebble beaches begin. On the southeast coast, everyone will find a beach to their liking, from sandy to rocky.
The second plus is the beautiful nature. Mountains, rocks, forests, vineyards, coves, a huge number of reserves, waterfalls, caves - all this is in the Crimea. Nikitsky Botanical Garden is located not far from Yalta on 40 hectares of land. And between Sudak and Feodosia are the ruins of the ancient volcano Karadag. Now there is a nature reserve, and tourists from all over the world come to see the Golden Gate of Karadag.
The third plus is many cities with an interesting history, sights and architectural monuments. The most visited city is Sevastopol, and the most beautiful palaces are Livadia, Massandrovsky and Vorontsov. Two cable cars do not go unnoticed either. Moreover, one of them leads to the Swallow's Nest, located on the top of Ai-Petri. In every village of Crimea you will be shown at least a few attractions: cave cities, summer cottages of famous people, temples and monasteries, wine factories, fortresses, parks, aquariums, dolphinariums and much more. You can return to Crimea every year and discover something new.
The fourth plus is a large amount of transport to Crimea from Russia. You can get to Simferopol and Sevastopol by plane or train. And from here the road is open to any city and village of Crimea. Buses from many cities of Russia go to Yalta and Sevastopol. Well, the most convenient mode of transport is, of course, a car.
The fifth plus is a climate similar to our southern coast (not as hot as in Sochi and Adler, more like the weather in Anapa and Gelendzhik). Plus Crimea is a Russian peninsula. And you don't need to learn a foreign language. But there is an opportunity to practice your foreign language with tourists from all over the world.
One more plus can be distinguished - various recreation opportunities. You can absolutely economically relax in campsites (practically free) or in private houses (from 200 rubles per person). Or you can rent an apartment (from 700 rubles per day for the whole apartment) or live in a boarding house, hotel or holiday home (from 1000 rubles per day). In Crimea, there is a vacation for a variety of wallets.
Well, let's move on to the cons. In my opinion, there are three of them. The first is, of course, customs. If you choose the wrong time, there is a chance to stand at the border from 5 to 10 hours. Therefore, try to get to customs closer to the night. July and August are the most unfavorable months - kilometer-long traffic jams at the border.
The second disadvantage is the expensive travel. For example, from Moscow a reserved seat ticket will cost about 3,000, in a compartment - about 5,500. A plane ticket will be slightly more expensive - 6,000. Buses run from Rostov-on-Don and Krasnodar to Sevastopol and Yalta. Ticket prices range from 1200 to 1500 rubles. If you decide to go by car, do not forget to fill up a full tank before the border. Gasoline is more expensive in Ukraine: 92nd - about 10.5 (about 42 rubles) hryvnia, and 95th - about 10.7 hryvnia (44 rubles). By the way, it is better to change the hryvnia away from the border and embankments in large cities (Simferopol, Sevastopol, Yalta, etc.) in the banks of Ukraine.
Well, the third minus is a rather long road to Crimea. From Moscow by train the journey will take a little more than a day, by plane - 2, 5 hours. If you travel from Rostov-on-Don or Krasnodar by bus, you will have to spend from 11 to 14 hours on the road. By car, the time is individual, depending on the speed and number of stops.
