The first and most important step on the way to obtaining a Finnish visa is a correctly completed application form. The questionnaire is filled out on a computer or manually in block letters in English or Finnish, which can create some difficulties for those who do not know these languages. The questionnaire, which is filled out by citizens of the Russian Federation, contains tips in Russian. Let's consider the main points that you should pay attention to when filling out the questionnaire.
Instructions
Step 1
Questions 1-10. The answers to these questions are filled out based on the data of the foreign passport. The surname and former surnames, as well as the name and patronymic, are written in Latin letters. Please note that the middle name in a foreign passport is not spelled out in Latin letters, so you will have to write it based on how it is pronounced. For example, the patronymic "Vladislavovich" can be written "Vladislavovich". In addition, note that those born before 1991 in question 6 of the “Place and country of birth” questionnaire write “USSR” or “Soviet Union”. Questions 7 and 8, concerning citizenship, fill in "Russian Federation". If you have a different nationality by birth, please indicate this. In the questions of the questionnaire 9 and 10, concerning gender and marital status, it is enough to tick the boxes.
Step 2
Questions 11-18. Write the surname, name and patronymic of the mother and father in Latin letters in the same way as you wrote your patronymic, relying on pronunciation. In question 13, check the box corresponding to your passport type. Write questions 14 to 17 based on the data in your passport. Fill in question 18 only if you live outside the territory of the Russian Federation.
Step 3
Questions 19-28. Questions 19 and 20 are about your place of work. Write in English who you work (manager, doctor, policeman) and where you work. How the name of your company is spelled in English, it is better to check with the HR department or in the accounting department. With regard to question 21 “Country of destination”, write the country in which you intend to spend the most days. For example, if you travel to Sweden via Finland and stay there for 5 days out of 7, write “Sweden”. In questions 22-24, check the boxes as needed. In question 25, write in numbers the number of days for which you are applying for a visa. In questions 26 and 28, write to which countries you have been issued visas over the past 3 years, the data can be viewed in your passport.
Step 4
Questions 29-36. In question 29, select the purpose of your trip by ticking the checkbox. In questions 30 and 31, provide the dates of entry and exit. It is better to write dates in year-month-day format. In paragraph 32, write down the first border crossing point. When planning a route, pay attention to this, because you can cross the border in several places (Nuijamaa, Vaalimaa). Question 33 asks how you enter Finland: by air, by train or by car. In paragraph 34, indicate the host. If you are staying at a hotel, write the contact details of the hotel. Check the boxes in questions 35 and 36.
Step 5
Questions 37-42. These questions relate to the spouse and children and are filled out based on the data of their passports in Latin letters.
Step 6
Questions 43-48. Question 43 is filled out only if you are financially dependent on a person living in the European Union. Question 44 is not completed. In question 45, write your home address based on how you pronounce it. The address is usually written like this: apartment, house, street, city, country. In question 46, write your contact phone number. You can leave your home and mobile numbers. In question 47, indicate the date and location of the questionnaire. Sign question 48. Remember that an incorrectly completed application form may result in a refusal to issue a visa.
