First of all, study the contract for the provision of travel services. Pay special attention to the paragraph where the rights and obligations of the parties are spelled out. If you paid for the trip in advance and there are more than 25 days left before it starts, you will receive the majority of the amount. These may include courier charges, bank transfers, etc.

Once you have made your final decision to cancel your tour, do not delay calling the travel agency. Call and inform them about the situation. The manager will clarify all the details, the accountant will make calculations, after which they will call you back and inform you about further actions.

If you are not satisfied with the amount that can be returned to you, ask for documentary proof of expenses. If the money was transferred to the hotel, airline or other partners and they refuse to return it, you will not be able to do anything.

However, there is one way out. Find people who would like to purchase your tour. Offer it to your relatives, friends, acquaintances, colleagues. If you manage to do this, you can get back almost the entire amount of money spent.
Step 6
In this case, call the travel agency and tell them that your friends will go for you. The manager will need to make changes to the confirmed tour. To do this, he will need data from new tourists. Email photocopies of their passports or take them personally to the agency. Typically, such changes are subject to a fine of $ 20 to $ 50 per person. Your friends will pay for the tour, and you will get your money back, minus the fines.
Step 7
Ask about cancellation insurance before booking your trip. If you are going to a visa country, most likely it will be included in the tour package. If not, ask for it to be issued for you. In case of refusal to travel, you can expect to receive the amount specified in the contract. However, read its terms and conditions first. In some cases, the insurer reserves the right not to refund money.
