Frankfurt International Airport is located a few kilometers from the city. You can get from the airport to the city by various means of transport: by electric train, by bus, by taxi or by a rented car.

Step 1
From the airport to the center of Frankfurt am Main, you can take an electric train. To do this, you need to get to the Regionalbahnhof suburban train station, which is located in Terminal 1, on floor 0, in hall B. From here, the S8 and S9 trains leave in the direction of Offenbach or Hanau, which can take you to the city center. Travel time will take you 10 minutes. Trains run every 15 minutes. Train tickets can be purchased both at the ticket office in Hall B, floor 0, and from vending machines.
If you want to travel not to Frankfurt am Main, but to another city in Germany, then you need to get to the Fernbahnhof train station, which is located in the AlRail Terminal (sector T) next to Terminal 1. From here you can reach any major city Germany. Trains come and go from platforms 4, 5, 6, 7.
Step 2
You can also take the bus. Buses to the center of Frankfurt am Main leave from Terminal 1 on the ground floor. To get to the city, you need to take a bus that follows the route to the Sudbahnhof. Travel time is approximately 1 hour 30 minutes.
Step 3
From the airport to Frankfurt am Main, you can take taxis located right in front of Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. The drive to the city center takes approximately 20 minutes.
Step 4
You can reach the city by a rented car. Car rental companies are located in Terminal 1, on floor 0, in sector A, as well as in Terminal 2, on floor 1, in the arrivals hall D. In order to rent a car, you need to have a passport and international driving license. Once you have rented a car, follow the main road following signs for Stadtmitte. This will take you to the city center.
