To visit most foreign countries, Russians need to obtain a visa from the embassy of this state. Poland is one of these states. The procedure for obtaining a visa to enter this country depends on the purpose of its visit and the time that is supposed to be spent there.
Since 2007, Poland has been a member of the so-called Schengen Union of States, and the procedure for issuing a visa to enter this country complies with the rules of the Schengen Agreement. The obtained visa will allow you to freely visit all countries in its area of operation.
What documents are needed to obtain a Polish visa
To obtain permission to enter Poland, you must contact the state embassy and provide the established package of documents. As a rule, the list of documents includes a visa application form, a foreign passport and a standard Russian passport, as well as their photocopies, two color photographs measuring 3, 5 × 4, 5 cm, tickets and confirmation that a hotel room has already been booked in Poland for residence. In addition, it will be necessary to provide documents confirming social status - a certificate from work or place of study, a pension certificate, if any. Before applying to the Polish embassy for a visa, you will need to take out medical insurance for the entire period of stay in the state.
What are the visas to enter the territory of Poland
Before contacting the embassy, you need to decide on the purpose of your visit, that is, choose the appropriate type of visa.
The most in demand are tourist visas, which, in turn, are single or multiple. The first option is suitable for those who are going on vacation for a couple of weeks. For those who intend to visit the country several times over the course of some time, for example, to go shopping, you can apply for a multiple-entry visa.
Work and business visas also allow you to visit Poland multiple times during its validity period and work in the state or hold business meetings.
A visitor visa is issued to those who have received an invitation from friends or relatives. In addition, there are so-called cultural visas, national and student. Each type of permit determines the purpose of the trip, the period of stay in the territory of the state and the possibility of movement within the Schengen area.
The cost of a Polish visa is determined by its type and duration. Visas are issued free of charge to persons over 70 and under 16; disabled people; those who go to a funeral or to visit the grave of a close relative. Residents of the Kaliningrad region and those who cross its border on official duties (railway workers, participants in any events, students or teachers of universities and other educational institutions) will not pay for a visa to enter the territory of Poland.
