Tobolsk is the old capital of Siberia. From 1708 to 1782 the city was the administrative center of the Siberian province. And today it is one of the oldest and most beautiful cities in the region. The main attractions of Tobolsk are the Kremlin, the Prison Castle, the Temple of the Archangel Michael. But getting to the city is not so easy.

Step 1
Travel to the old capital of Siberia by train. There is a railway station of the same name in Tobolsk. The city is not a transport hub, and you can get here only from two directions - southwest (Tyumen, Yekaterinburg and other cities located on the Trans-Siberian Railway) and northeast (Surgut and other settlements in the north of the region). From Moscow to Tobolsk can be reached by passing trains: "Moscow-Novy Urengoy", "Moscow-Nizhnevartovsk" and other passing trains.
Step 2
Get to Tobolsk by bus. There is a bus station in the city. There are regular flights to Tobolsk from Tyumen, Kurgan, Chelyabinsk, Khanty-Mansiysk and Petropavlovsk (Kazakhstan).
Step 3
Visit the city by private vehicle. The P404 highway passes near Tobolsk, so you can easily come here by your own or a rented car. To the southeast is Tyumen, from which it is not so long to get there by local standards. Surgut and other cities in the north of the region are located on the northeastern side.
Step 4
Take advantage of the flight to the Tyumen region. Not all parts of the country can come to Tobolsk by regular bus. Getting there by train is not always convenient. There is good news for those who prefer to travel by plane. Roshchino airport is located near Tyumen, which receives flights from many parts of Russia and some foreign countries. From there, you can get to your destination by train or bus. There is an airport in Tobolsk, but now even small planes are unable to land there. Airport "Tobolsk" is suitable only for helicopter landing.
Step 5
Come to the city by other means of transport. By rail, you can get to Tobolsk using suburban electric trains. Geography is limited only to nearby settlements of the Tyumen region. There is also a river port in Tobolsk, but it is hardly more interesting for passengers than the city airport. But it can still be suitable for tourist routes.
