Instructions
Step 1
If you decide to visit Belgium for the purpose of recreation or sightseeing, you will need a passport with a valid Schengen visa, travel tickets (round trip), hotel reservation or invitation, as well as a medical insurance policy with coverage from 30,000 euros and valid throughout the Schengen agreement …
Step 2
If you intend to immigrate to this country, the first thing you need to do is choose the most optimal option for moving.
Step 3
Belgium is an attractive country for immigrants for two reasons. Firstly, the minimum wage in the country is from 1,500 euros. Secondly, due to the fact that the country is home to the largest international organizations, the Belgian authorities are more loyal to refugees than the authorities of other European countries. But this does not mean at all that everything is simple. In order to legally settle in the country, you need to make a lot of efforts.
Step 4
Citizens of the Russian Federation wishing to get a job must obtain permission from the Ministry of Labor. To do this, you will need to convince officials that you are such a highly qualified specialist that an employer cannot do without your knowledge. There are three types of work permits in the country - A, B and C. A category A permit has an unlimited validity period, it allows you to get a job with any employer and, if necessary, change your place of work. The type B permit must be renewed annually and this document can only be used in a specific organization. If you decide to change jobs, you will lose your permit. Category C allows you to work in multiple locations at the same time.
Step 5
If you have a specific profession (photographer, doctor, lawyer, etc.) and wish to work for yourself, instead of a work permit, you will need to obtain a professional card. It is issued by the Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises, it is valid for 5 years and it gives you the right to engage only in the declared type of activity.
Step 6
You can legalize in Belgium by opening your own business. Business immigration is the registration of a company in the country. To do this, you will need to travel to Belgium, sign statutory documents and open a bank account. However, the manager of the company must be an EU citizen. He will conclude a contract with you, write out a salary of at least 28,000 euros per year, and this contract will become the basis for the issuance of a special visa of category D. After you enter the country with this visa, you will be able to apply for a residence permit for one year. Among other privileges, a residence permit gives the right to educate children at school free of charge. You will need to renew your residence permit for another two years, after which you can apply for citizenship.
Step 7
There is another way to obtain a residence permit. It involves the registration of a joint stock company and the purchase of a ready-made business. By purchasing a car wash, cafe, restaurant, etc., you can obtain a residence permit. And in the same way as in the previous version, apply for citizenship in three years.
Step 8
The last and most popular type of immigration to Belgium is the application for political asylum. To do this, you will need to contact the Office for Foreigners. If you do not speak a foreign language, you will be provided with an interpreter. It is advisable to have documents with you confirming that you have been oppressed in your country. You will be on government support for several months, then you will be called for a final interview. Your future will depend on it. You will either be granted refugee status, or you will be denied and issued a document obliging you to leave the country within 5 days. Within 3 days, you will be able to file an expedited appeal with the General Commission. If in this case you fail, you can contact the State Council. If violations are revealed there, then your case will be sent for review, and this, as a rule, always has a positive result. If you are able to convince the officials that you are in danger at home, you will be given refugee status and a residence permit. After five years, you will be able to apply for citizenship.
