Instructions

Step 1

Start your visa application on time. It is recommended to submit documents for its receipt no earlier than 90 days, but no later than 3 weeks before the scheduled date of travel to Belgium. As a rule, a visa is issued within 5-10 working days from the date of application, but this process can be delayed for one reason or another.

Step 2

Check if you have a Schengen visa, and if so, what is the validity period. If the deadlines do not allow you to travel to Belgium on the existing visa, you will have to either wait until it expires, or go to the Belgian embassy and ask to close it ahead of schedule.

Step 3

Gather all the required paperwork. In particular, you should take a passport, the validity of which must exceed 3 months from the end of the planned trip to Belgium, medical insurance with a coverage amount of more than 30,000 euros and a 5x5 photo. Take a certificate from your place of work confirming that your monthly income exceeds 25,000 rubles. Also pay the visa fee and take a receipt confirming the fact of payment.

Step 4

Fill out the visa application form. Please note: it can be completed in English, German, French or Dutch. The questionnaire is in Russian, you will not be accepted, so worry about its design in advance, especially if you do not know the languages listed above too well.

Step 5

Contact the Visa Section of the Belgian Embassy. First, you should call there and make an appointment, and then show up at the appointed time with a package of documents. Show all documents to the embassy employee and follow the instructions he gives you.

Step 6

Be correct and polite in communication, and if you receive a visa refusal, calmly ask what caused it and what you should do now. Please note: upon receipt of a refusal to issue a visa, the consular fee paid by you will not be returned by the embassy staff.
