Winery "Koktebel" is the oldest and largest wine-making enterprise in Crimea, attracting many tourists. Here you can get acquainted with the intricacies of wine production, see the famous cellars with barrels of aged Madeira, and even taste the best drinks from the plant's collection.
History of the enterprise
Koktebel wine production began its work at the end of the 19th century, after the local soils were cultivated and adapted for growing vines. The modern factory was built in 1944. At first, the vineyards of the enterprise occupied only 200 hectares, they gradually expanded, today the farm occupies about 2200 (not including warehouses).
The peculiarity of the Koktebel wine factory is the organization of a full production cycle. It begins with the cultivation of cuttings, followed by collection, pressing, aging in barrels and bottling. Barrels with Madeira - the hallmark of the Koktebel winery - are aged in tunnels of many meters, and the products of different harvest years are stacked on the racks in rows. Wine materials are brought here after maturation in a special greenhouse for a year and three-year aging of barrels in open areas. A real museum of vintage collection wine has been created in the underground tunnels; you can get into this storage only as part of an excursion.
The factory has tasting rooms where you can get acquainted with the most popular types of local wines. There is also a shop where tourists buy products at retail. A bottle of real Crimean Madeira is the most desired gift and the best souvenir from Koktebel.
Factory and tasting tours
The winery is located at the entrance to Koktebel, you can get to it by suburban buses coming from Simferopol, Yalta, Feodosia and other Crimean cities.
