Italy is one of the Schengen countries, therefore, to visit it you need to obtain a Schengen visa. This is fairly straightforward; in addition, if you have a long-term visa of any Schengen country, you no longer need another. However, if you do not have such a visa, then with the help of these simple enough tips, you can easily get an Italian one.
Instructions
Step 1
First of all, plan your trip well in advance, as no embassy guarantees minimum visa issuance times. You can apply for a visa to Italy 90 days before the expected start of the trip.
Step 2
Visit the website of the Italy Visa Application Center in Moscow https://www.italyvms.ru/ru/content/index.htm. It is often much more convenient to submit documents at visa centers than directly at the embassies; in addition, some states accept documents for a visa only through visa centers
Step 3
Sign up for the submission of documents using the appropriate link on the website.
Step 4
Refer to the "Required Documents" section of the website. Here you will find a list of all the documents you need to prepare to apply for a visa. It is not difficult for an Italian visa - it is:
1. Invitation (from a private person - an Italian citizen, or a company) or hotel reservation
2. Round trip ticket or booking.
3. Medical insurance for the Schengen countries - it can be obtained both in advance and directly at the visa center. The minimum insurance coverage must be EUR 30,000.
4. Passport valid for at least 3 months from the date of the end of the visa and a copy of its first page.
5. Certificate from the place of work (study for schoolchildren, students).
6. Proof of financial solvency (bank statement, for example).
7. Receipt of consular fee payment.
8. Civil passport.
9. Questionnaire with a photo.
Step 5
You can download the application form directly on the website of the Visa Application Center in the "Forms" section. For a regular tourist visa, please choose the "Type C visa application form".
Step 6
The form needs to be printed - this can be done on two sheets on two sides, or on four sheets. You need to fill out the questionnaire with a pen, preferably with blue ink. The questionnaire is filled out in English or Italian, in block letters.
Step 7
Also in the "Forms" section you can find a sample of the completed questionnaire and use it as an example.
Step 8
Please note that if you were born before 1991, in the columns "Country of birth" and "Citizenship at birth, if different", you should write not Russia, but USSR.
