Before planning a trip, you need to know exactly what you can take with you, and for what cargo you will have to pay extra. Recently, airlines have been able to limit not only the weight of baggage, but also the number of its seats per tourist. But the weight of suitcases or bags also matters.

It is necessary

  • - the rules of transportation of your transport company;
  • - the class of your ticket;
  • - floor and table scales.

Instructions

Step 1

Make a list of the items you plan to take with you on the road. If we are only talking about personal belongings, then put them all in your suitcase and bags. Step on the bathroom scale without luggage and with each packed piece separately. Find the difference - this will be the data you are looking for.

Step 2

Weigh the other items you want to take with you on the road in the same way. Use a bench scale for small items.

Step 3

Add up the resulting weight of all bags and compare the data with the rules of transportation. On the railway, one passenger is allowed to take with him up to 36 kilograms of cargo. The requirements of different airlines differ. But, as a rule, the following restrictions apply: in economy class you can carry 20 kg, in business class - 30 kg, and in first class - 40 kg. The exact data on the permissible weight may differ slightly upwards.

Step 4

Determine what you will be checked in at the airport and what you will leave as carry-on baggage. It is allowed to take with you on the plane no more than 10 kg with dimensions up to 115 cm. Please be aware that the weight limits include both checked baggage and carry-on baggage.

Step 5

Leave a small margin so that the weight of your belongings is definitely less than the established limits. If you are flying as a family, then you have more room for maneuver. But don't add up your limits: make sure that each seat meets the requirements of the company.

Step 6

Do not weigh items that can be carried on board for free. These include, in particular, baby or wheelchairs and crutches if required by passengers. In addition, outerwear that you take with you to the salon in order, for example, to put on at the place of arrival, does not need to be weighed. Handbags and purses, folding umbrellas, personal electronics (camcorders, cameras, laptops), as well as books, magazines, documents are not taken into account.

Step 7

Get ready to spend money if you are carrying animals or musical instruments. They are transported only for money, and it makes no sense to weigh them. If you have a fragile and valuable cargo, you will have to buy a separate seat for it in the cabin. At the same time, the established free baggage allowance does not apply to this ticket.
