To issue an invitation to Latvia for your relatives, friends or employees, you will have to prepare a specific package of documents in each specific case.
Instructions
Step 1
You have the right to invite a relative, friend, or employee to Latvia if: - you are a citizen of Latvia; - you are a foreigner who has a permanent residence permit in Latvia; - you are a foreigner who has a valid temporary residence permit in Latvia (only for inviting close relatives); - you are a citizen one of the EU countries and you have a registration certificate of the Republic of Latvia in your hands; - you are a representative of a Latvian state institution or a legal entity registered in this country.
Step 2
If you are an individual and wish to invite a relative or friend to Latvia, submit the following documents to the Citizenship and Migration Board: - identity document; - information about the invited foreigner (surname and first name in Latin transcription, status, date and place of birth, gender, address of residence abroad, occupation, purpose of the visit, place and time of stay in the country); - information about your occupation, as well as income certificates (if you are going to take all expenses for the stay of a foreigner in Latvia on yourself); - a receipt for payment of the state duty.
Step 3
Be prepared for the fact that you may be asked for documents and certificates confirming the fact of family or friendship relations. If parents, spouse, grandparents, grandchildren are invited to Latvia, then you just need to provide evidence of family relations and certify with your signature that the invited foreigner will not burden the social assistance system with his presence.
Step 4
If you are a representative of a legal entity or a state institution of the Republic of Latvia, then you will need the following documents: - identity document; - power of attorney (may be included in the application); - application; - receipt of payment of state duty.
Step 5
Prepare and documents confirming the relationship of the foreigner with your company or institution (contracts, protocols, invoices, etc.). In addition, you will have to justify the legality of the presence of a citizen of another country in the territory of Latvia (for example, provide a certified confirmation of this from the head of the organization).
Step 6
If you are a representative of an employer, then, in addition to the documents provided by organizations, you will need legalized copies of the employee's documents (including those on education and qualifications), as well as a license to carry out activities (if necessary).
