The Moscow authorities began to place plates with QR codes on the monuments of the capital and buildings that are valuable from the point of view of history. QR codes enable owners of smartphones and tablets to go to a page on the Internet dedicated to this attraction and get complete information.
In order to get data about the object, it is enough to point the mobile device at the QR code. The QR code makes it possible to get acquainted not only with text, but also with graphic information about a landmark or related events. At the same time, the data will be presented in a simple and interesting form. In addition to historical facts, it is planned to publish the memoirs of famous personalities.
Basically, historians and Moscow scientists are engaged in the preparation of information for Internet pages, but everyone has the opportunity to share their own data and entertaining facts about the sights of the capital, equipped with plates with a QR code.
All objects with QR codes will be combined into thematic routes. Thus, Muscovites and guests of the capital will be able to easily organize and conduct interesting excursions on their own and get better acquainted with the history of the city.
According to Kirill Kuznetsov, head of the sectoral projects department of the information technology department, the cost of one plate with a QR code is 1,500 rubles on average. Already today they can be seen in the center of Moscow on Tverskaya from Pushkinskaya Square to Okhotny Ryad, on Pyatnitskaya Street on the estate of the merchant Ivanov and on Novaya Basmannaya Street on the former tenement house. In total, by the end of 2012, it is planned to place in the capital 200 plates with a QR code dedicated to the themes "War of 1812", "Zamoskvorechye", "Arbat and Arbat lanes".
In the near future, it is also planned to develop a mobile application that will allow guests of the capital and Muscovites themselves to use audio guides. The application will help you find the sights closest to a person, for which there will be audio information. Moscow authorities hope these measures will help make the Russian capital even more interesting.
