If the log is not very large and heavy, then it is not difficult for one person or two to lift it. It is much more difficult to handle a log if it is very long or large in diameter. In order to lift such a log, 4 or more people are needed, the main thing is that there are an even number of them, and strong poles or boards, one for each pair of people.

Instructions

Step 1

Choose poles or planks so that they are at least three times the diameter of the log to be lifted, but not too long so as not to cling to surrounding objects. Make sure the boards are smooth enough not to injure anyone carrying the log or ruin your clothes. Also check the log itself - if there are branches on it, chop them off with an ax, try to clean the bark.

Step 2

Lay the prepared poles or planks perpendicular to the log to be moved. The distance between the boards should be at least 50 centimeters, since the boards will be located on the shoulders of the carriers, and they should not interfere with each other when walking. At the same time, the distance from the end of the log to the first board should not be less than 30-40 centimeters, because the tree can slide off during transportation.

Step 3

Roll the log carefully onto the provided poles or planks. Make sure it is in the middle of this whole structure. If you cannot roll the log onto the planks because it does not roll onto the cut, try to deepen the end of the plank into the ground so that the tree will not encounter additional resistance.

Step 4

After making sure the log is positioned correctly, stand at the ends of the boards - one at each end. Thus, if 3 boards or poles are used to lift the log, then 6 people are needed. They will stand three on each side of the log. Gently lift the boards, try to do it synchronously, so that the log does not outweigh in one direction. If you feel that one of the boards may not stand up, let your comrades know about it. It is better to choose other, stronger boards than to expose anyone to the risk of injury.
