Japan is a country known for its high level of service and very interesting for tourists. Nevertheless, there is a visa regime between this country and Russia, and for any trip to Japan a special document must be drawn up.

Step 1
Decide for what purpose you want to travel to Japan. The package of documents that you will need to provide depends on this.
Step 2
For a short-term trip, for example, as a tourist, a guest invited by Japanese friends, or a business partner in negotiations, get the necessary papers from the Japanese side. If a company invites you, it will have to send you a letter of guarantee and a program of stay in Japan. You will also need information about the company issuing the invitation itself - for example, a certificate of registration in the state register.
Step 3
Similar requirements apply to private invitations. In this case, your relative or acquaintance will have to send an extract from the registration book at the place of residence. If he is a foreigner, then you will need a certificate from the place of work or a copy of the tax return.
Step 4
Fill out the visa application form by downloading its form from the website of the Japanese Embassy in Moscow. If you are traveling for business purposes, add a certificate from your place of work to the documents delivered from Japan. To visit relatives, you will need a document confirming your family ties.
Step 5
Submit the package of papers along with your photo and passport to the Japanese Consulate. One of them is located in Moscow. There are also branches in St. Petersburg and the Far East. It will take about a week for your application to be reviewed. The maximum period for which you can obtain a short-term visa is three months.
Step 6
If you need a long stay in Japan, justify this desire with appropriate documents. You will need an invitation from an educational institution or from a company that is ready to provide you with a job. In this case, you will have to fill out a long-term visa application form. Be prepared for the fact that obtaining such an entry permit will take much longer to process documents than for a simple tourist trip.
