Step 1
Choose the right time for your trip. In some periods of time, the price of train tickets decreases. You can count on a 10% discount in the periods from 1 to 6 January, from 11 March to 27 April and from 1 October to 1 November. Tickets become 20% cheaper for trips from January 10 to March 6 and from November 6 to December 20. The lowest prices are on May 8 and 9 - tickets to all domestic destinations can be purchased for half the cost.
Step 2
Take advantage of discount periods on selected destinations. For example, in the summer you can buy a ticket for a trip to one of the Russian resorts - Sochi, Novorossiysk or Kislovodsk cheaper. Step 3
Buy tickets online. If you are going to travel in a compartment in a luxury carriage, you will receive a 5% discount when using an e-ticket.
Step 4
If your child is disabled, take advantage of the benefits they are entitled to. He is entitled to purchase train tickets with a 50% discount throughout the year and one such trip during the summer. Also, such a child should receive free travel to the place of treatment and back, if necessary. Such a trip can be made once a year. Benefits and discounts apply to one accompanying adult for a disabled child.
Step 5
In the event that you have taken out custody of an orphan child, inquire about his special benefits. If he has not yet reached 23 years of age and at the same time studies in another city, he is entitled to a free train ride to the place of study and back once a year.
Step 6
Take advantage of child benefits when purchasing commuter rail tickets. To do this, the child will need to present a certificate from the school or student ID. During the academic year, the discount for the ticket will be 50%.
