After all, a hostel is not a house in a ghetto, but rather a decent, albeit cheap hotel.

Ask local taxi drivers or police for information on the location of the hostel if you were unable to find the hotel in advance. They usually know the city where they work well and will be able to help people with huge backpacks behind them find a place to sleep. You can buy a guide at the airport or train station and find the addresses of the hostels there. Buy travel guides from well-known authors and publishers.
