Rail transport is one of the most affordable and convenient in Russia. To make the train ride comfortable and not boring, you need to think in advance about what to take with you. You need to take care of a sufficient amount of food and water, figure out how to spend time and what you need to take for this, do not forget about hygiene products and other necessary things.
What products to take with you on the train
Typically, a train ride lasts at least five to six hours, and often several days. In any case, you need to take a sufficient amount of food with you. It is inconvenient to buy food during stops at different stations, prices in kiosks and shops at train stations are usually overpriced, and the choice of food on the trains themselves is small - chocolate bars, chips, crackers and other fast food.
On the train, you need to take food that does not spoil for a long time, does not require special storage conditions, does not stain your hands, and saturates well. This is a variety of fruits - apples, bananas, pears, vegetables - cucumbers, bell peppers, bread and crisp bread, nuts, dried fruits, gingerbread or chocolate.
If you take perishable food with you - kefir, yogurt, sausages, sausage, then you need to eat them in the first hours of being on the train. Boiled eggs can be stored for up to ten hours at room temperature, boiled or fried meat for no more than six hours.
You can buy porridge or soups in bags, which are poured with boiling water. And so that the food on the train is healthy and satisfying, you can make your own bars of nuts, dried fruits and fruits - this is a hearty and tasty snack that can be used instead of sweets for tea.
It is not recommended to take strong-smelling foods, dairy products, salads dressed with mayonnaise on the train.
All vegetables and fruits must be thoroughly washed and dried, the food must be packed in plastic containers and bags. Bring napkins and disposable utensils with you to make it easier to eat. Do not forget water or other drinks - juice, mineral water, compote. Buy tea or coffee bags.
What things to take with you on the train
In addition to food, it is very important not to forget personal hygiene products - take soap, toothbrush and paste, toilet paper, wet wipes. Some cosmetics should be in toilets, but in reality this rule is not always followed.
If you have ordered bed linen, it will include a hand towel, otherwise do not forget to bring a towel with you.
If the trip takes a long time and you have to spend the night on the train, it is advisable to bring comfortable shoes that you can quickly take off and put on, such as rubber flip flops.
Health problems often occur on the road, do not forget your personal first aid kit, which should contain bandages, antiseptic, cotton wool, headache medicines, stomach tablets and medicines that you often use.
Bring a book, magazines, newspapers, tablet, player or any other means of entertainment with you. If you are traveling with friends or family, you can grab a board game or cards.
