Like many cities on the island, Faliraki was founded before our era, evidence of this is located near the city. In the 70s of the last century, the city developed along with the flourishing of the tourism industry throughout Greece, when tourists from all over the world discovered that Faliraki has beautiful clean beaches, smooth entry into the sea, magnificent picturesque landscapes and many attractions around.

Despite the fact that the city has everything for a comfortable stay for young people: cafes, bars, restaurants, Faliraki are loved by families with small children and prefer to settle here. Tourists who have arrived in Faliraki will not be able to complain about the lack of impressions: the city has a wonderful promenade Traganou, a water park and an amusement park with various attractions for children and adults, a dolphinarium, famous throughout Rhodes.

If you want to see historical antiquities, you can stroll through the old quarter of the city, visit the Church of St. Nektarios or the monasteries of St. Amos and the Prophet Elijah. Many tourists come here to drink water from the spring in the Kallithea Bay, which, according to local belief, has healing properties.

It will be simply a crime if, having arrived in Faliraki, you do not visit the largest cities of the island - Rhodes and Lindos. Moreover, they are located only 15 kilometers from Faliraki. It is there that there are those sights for which thousands of tourists come here every year. In the capital of the island, the city of Rhodes, there is the famous Palace of the Grand Masters, built in the Middle Ages, the port where once stood a huge statue of the sun god Helios, and now there are columns with a pair of deer - symbols of the island.

The city of Lindos is famous for the ancient Acropolis, the second largest after Athens. Here you can also look at the magnificent fountains created in the Byzantine era, which look even more beautiful under night illumination, do not forget to go to St. Paul's Bay, without it the excursion to Lindos will be incomplete.

Faliraki beaches deserve special attention. Like almost all beaches on the eastern side of the island, they are washed by the Mediterranean Sea. Tourists fell in love with them for the soft golden sand, gentle entry into the sea, the presence on the beaches of a large number of entertainment for all ages: water slides, catamarans, water skiing, diving - this is not a complete list of what you can do on the beaches of Faliraki, which have the length is almost 7 kilometers. And of course, how can you do without the famous local taverns and cafes, where you will be offered to taste fish delicacies caught and cooked right in front of your eyes.
