Instructions

Step 1

If a traveler wishing to visit Irkutsk has his own car and driver's license, he can drive to this settlement. Along one of the banks of the Angara, on which Irkutsk lies, the federal highway M-53 (in some schemes - R-255) runs, connecting the city with Krasnoyarsk, Kemerovo and Novosibirsk. It is in Irkutsk that this highway turns into M-55 (R-258), subsequently connecting the city with Ulan-Ude and Chita. Both of these routes are part of the famous Asian route An-6, which connects Eastern Europe and Korea.

Step 2

Every day hundreds of passengers arrive at the railway station of this settlement - the station "Irkutsk-Passenger". The city has direct communication with Moscow, Vladivostok, Novosibirsk, Chita, Chelyabinsk, Khabarovsk, Severobaikalsk, Ulan-Ude, Yekaterinburg, Neryungri, Blagoveshchensk, Novokuznetsk, Penza, Kislovodsk, Anapa, Adler, Zabaikalsk, Naushki, Abakan and many other Russian cities. Among other things, trains going to Ulan Bator and Beijing run through the Irkutsk-Passazhirskiy station.

Step 3

There is also a bus station in Irkutsk, which daily receives flights from Angarsk, Bratsk, Sayansk, Ust-Ilimsk, Usolye-Sibirskiy, as well as small towns in the Irkutsk region. Unfortunately, the intercity bus service in the region is not developed at all, since this niche has long been occupied by railroad transportation.

Step 4

You can also get to Irkutsk by plane. Airplanes from Moscow, Vladivostok, Blagoveshchensk, Novosibirsk, Yakutsk, Khabarovsk, Omsk, Chita, Magadan, Yekaterinburg, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and many other cities of the Russian Federation constantly land at the local airport. The airport also serves international flights between Irkutsk and Beijing, Antalya, Barcelona, Ulan Bator, Dushanbe, Tashkent, Yerevan, etc.

Step 5

There is one more way to get to Irkutsk, but it works only for four months (June-September). We are talking about water transport, namely, motor ships that constantly run between Bratsk and Irkutsk during the navigation period.
