Cyprus is quite an attractive place to live. The island has a warm climate, clear sea, magnificent nature and hospitable people. Besides, there is absolutely no crime here. If you decide to leave for the island of Aphrodite, you will need to choose one of the acceptable relocation options.
It is necessary
temporary or permanent residence permit
Instructions
Step 1
There are two types of residence permits in the country - temporary and permanent.
Step 2
If you buy a home on the island or rent it for a long time, you have the chance to get a temporary residence permit. To do this, you will need to provide a number of documents to the local immigration office:
- application;
- a certificate from a local bank stating that you own an external account, and a statement of the current state of the account. You must have at least $ 7,000. However, the larger the amount, the higher the likelihood that you will receive a positive answer;
- a valid passport;
- 4 photos;
- 34 euros;
- a copy of the documents for the ownership of real estate or a rental agreement.
The term of a temporary residence permit is one to four years.
Step 3
The fastest and easiest way to obtain a permanent residence permit is to purchase property on the island. However, there is one caveat. The cost of housing must be at least 300,000 euros. In this case, you can get Pink Slip - temporary resident status for a period of one year. This document gives you the right to stay in the country up to 365 days a year and can be renewed an unlimited number of times. Basically, this is a residence permit for a period of one year. However, if you leave the country and do not enter it within three months, your Pink Slip will be invalidated and you will have to obtain a visa and reapply for a new document.
Step 4
You can obtain a permanent residence permit in Cyprus if you fall into one of the following categories: Category A
If you come to Cyprus and want to open an office of an international company, you can expect to receive a permanent residence permit.
Step 5
Category B
If you plan to do business in the country, you will also be given a permit, however, some conditions will be put forward. Your activity must be safe for the country's economy.
Step 6
Category C
If you are a sought-after specialist and came to Cyprus to work at the invitation of a local employer, you can legally reside on the island. However, in this case too, there will be a caveat. Your employment should not lead to an increase in unemployment among the local population.
Step 7
Category D
You can legally live in Cyprus, not work or engage in any activity. The main thing is to prove that you receive income from abroad and that it is at least 10,000 euros per year per person. In this case, you will also receive all the necessary documents.
Step 8
If your spouse is a citizen of Cyprus, you will not have any problems with obtaining a permanent residence permit, and after 3 years - citizenship.
Step 9
After obtaining a residence permit in the country, and having lived in Cyprus for 7 years, you can apply for citizenship.
