Step 1

Fill out the Schengen visa application form. Its form is posted on the embassy's website. Please note that the application form is slightly different from the application for a Schengen visa at the consulate of any other country, so do not use the previously downloaded application forms. The questionnaire can be completed in German, French, Italian or English.

Step 2

Prepare a valid foreign passport (check its validity - it must expire no earlier than three months after the date of the intended departure from the country) and the previous one, if it has Schengen visas. Take a copy from the photo page of a valid international passport. Also make copies of all pages of the Russian passport.

Step 3

Take two color photos, size 3, 5x4, 0 cm. Pay attention to the requirements for photos, they are posted on the website of the Swiss Embassy. The photo must be taken no earlier than 6 months from the date of submission of documents for obtaining a visa. The photo should show the shoulders and the whole head, and the face should occupy 70-80% of the area of the photo. You can take a photo with glasses if you constantly wear them, but there should be no glare on the glasses. Photos of wearing a headdress are only accepted if it cannot be photographed for religious reasons. In this case, the face should be completely open, no shadows should fall on it.

Step 4

Issue a certificate at the place of work indicating your position, salary, the fact of granting leave with pay. The certificate must be printed on the letterhead of the organization and certified by the signature of the head and the seal. As proof of financial solvency, you can provide a bank statement. It is enough to have the equivalent of 100 Swiss francs for each day of stay in the country.

Step 5

Purchase a travel insurance policy. The list of accredited companies is posted on the website of the Embassy.

Step 6

Buy plane tickets. Attach copies to the package of documents.

Step 7

Receive a hotel voucher or confirmation of a hotel reservation for the duration of your stay in the country.

Step 8

Pay the visa fee, remember that the documents are submitted by the applicant in person or through an accredited travel agency. The embassy reserves the right to ask for additional documents or invite the applicant for an interview.
