Step 1
Extension of a visa for foreign citizens is carried out only in the presence of serious circumstances that prevent them from leaving the country on time, for example, hospital treatment. The visa can be extended for a period of three to ten days, but no more. First step: apply for an extension of your visa to the FMS.
Step 2
Prepare the following documents: original passport with a legal visa, 2 matte color photographs 3x4, original migration card, registration of arrival, grounds for visa extension. The extension itself will be carried out using a special form, which is called an exit visa. It is issued on an insert coupon or in the form of a glued-in sheet. In no case should you make any changes or adjustments to the form of the visa itself.
Step 3
Pay the state fee. It can range from 300 to 4000 rubles, depending on the specific case. The following persons are exempt from the payment of the duty: foreign citizens who have received a diplomatic or service visa, persons engaged in humanitarian charitable activities, as well as those citizens who cannot immediately leave the country due to a serious illness or death of a close relative. All these grounds must be documented.
Step 4
You can refuse to extend your visa if you have the following circumstances: lack of a passport or identity document, absence of a receipt for payment of state duty, visa delay for more than three days. In general, only those foreigners whose stay in the Russian Federation is fully legalized in accordance with the law can obtain a visa extension.
Step 5
If you have lost your documents, or they have been stolen from you, or you find yourself in another difficult situation, immediately contact the consulate to provide you with the necessary assistance in order to avoid serious problems in the future.
