Highways N-07, N-12, T-1901, R-45, R-44, R-61 run through the territory of the city. You can get to Sumy from a wide variety of directions. Route Н-07 connects the city with the capital of Ukraine. The distance along the railway line to Kiev is 370 km, to Kharkov - 191 km. Sumy can be reached by train from Kiev, Simferopol, Minsk, Moscow, Evpatoria, Kharkov. Also, trains run regularly to the city from Adler, Mineralnye Vody, Anapa, Mariupol, Baranovichi. You can get to Sumy by suburban trains from many settlements of the region.

Air travel
Sumy airport is currently not in the best condition. However, the city can be reached using air links from Moscow and Batumi.
