Preparation

Host country requirements
Having decided to take your pet on a long journey, you should not neglect the rules of the state that accepts your animal, perhaps there are some restrictions or temporary quarantine on the import of dogs of these breeds.
The animal must get on the plane in a special bag, which is often provided by the carrier himself. The dog must fully comply with the weight restrictions imposed by the company on the transportation of livestock, usually 5, less often 8 kilograms.
There should not be more than two dogs in the cabin at once (valid only for domestic flights in the USA and Canada), and the animal cannot cause any inconvenience or discomfort to other passengers. For rail transportation, the limit is 4 dogs per compartment in the absence of other passengers. You cannot transport an animal with a reserved seat.
For large dogs, there are special places in the heated cargo compartments of aircraft and trains, in which the animal can be visited during the flight. The dog's container must fully correspond to the dimensions of the pet, do not restrict its movement and give the animal the opportunity to get up and turn around. The floor is covered with absorbent material, the top and bottom markings, passport and contact details of the owner of the animal are glued to the container.
Baggage payment
Such baggage is paid for as excess non-standard baggage, except for the transportation of guides. For a seat in the aircraft cabin, each company has separate rates.
It must be remembered that, according to the rules of air transportation, it is not recommended to feed 12 hours before the takeoff time, it is better to give a drink 4 hours before the crucial moment, the use of a leash and collar during the flight is prohibited, as well as during transportation by rail.
