In the Moscow metro, Ploshchad Revolyutsii and Okhotny Ryad stations are part of the same transport hub. However, there is no direct transition between them. And the transition method is very simple for a knowledgeable person.
Metro station "Okhotny Ryad" belongs to the Sokolnicheskaya line (red), and "Ploschad Revolyutsii" to the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya line (blue). The metro builders do not provide for a direct transition between these stations. Officially, it is proposed to follow the signs along which you need to walk a long walk to the Teatralnaya station of the Zamoskvoretskaya line (green color), go down the stairs and make another long walk to the Revolution Square. The total length of the route is about 400 meters.
However, experienced passengers of the Moscow metro have long forgotten this method of transportation and never use it. Much faster and much less laborious, you can make the transition to the next algorithm.
- Being at the Okhotny Ryad station, the passenger needs to go to the escalator at the end of the platform where the head of the electric train heading to the Lubyanka station is located, regardless of the signs with the passage signs, then take this escalator to the station lobby, turn slightly to the right and walk a short distance to the escalator downhill. Descending on this escalator, the passenger will be at the Teatralnaya metro station without the slightest effort.
- Once on the Teatralnaya platform, you need to go straight to the opposite end of the platform. There, the passenger will see another escalator leading to the rise. He needs to take this escalator to the station lobby. Literally a few meters to the left of him, the passenger will see an escalator leading down to the required station “Revolution Square”. A couple more minutes of descent - and he is in place.
An observant person will be able to turn his attention to the fact that with him dozens of people use this method of passage, some of whom get from Okhotny Ryad to Teatralnaya in this way, some from Teatralnaya to Revolution Square, and another part will be done and full transition from Okhotny Ryad to Revolution Square.
Having made this transition once, the passenger usually uses it constantly. Instead of a long and tedious official 400-meter pedestrian crossing in a crowd of fellow travelers, he gets comfortable movement on mechanical devices. If you have bulky luggage, this method is simply irreplaceable.
If the passenger has to take the metro again in the opposite direction, then it is enough for him to do the same route, but in the opposite order. In each case, time and effort will be saved.
If a person is forced to use this route regularly, then all the stages of the movement considered will be brought to automatism, which is very, very convenient.
