Beloe is one of the most beautiful lakes in the north of Russia. The ancient city of Belozersk stands on its shore. There is a section of the famous White Sea-Baltic Canal and a monument to its builders. There are many interesting things in Belozersk - a monastery, old churches, the rampart of the old city. Step 1
Belozersk is the administrative center of the Belozersk District of the Vologda Oblast. If you prefer to travel by plane, the airport closest to White Lake is in Cherepovets. In Belozersk there is a small airfield, once it received mail planes, but now it works extremely irregularly. A direct flight to Cherepovets can be reached from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Murmansk, Apatitov and Helsinki. The most convenient way to get from the airport to the bus station is by taxi.
Step 2
From the bus station of Cherepovets to Belozersk there is a bus number 738. It runs daily, makes several flights. You will be there in two and a half hours.
Step 3
There is no railway to Belozersk. The nearest major railway stations are Vologda and Cherepovets. If you are traveling from Moscow, Yaroslavl, Arkhangelsk, it is more convenient to get off in Vologda, and if from St. Petersburg - to Cherepovets. Bus stations in both cities are located next to the railway, in Vologda - on the same square. From Moscow trains of this direction depart from Yaroslavsky railway station (metro station "Komsomolskaya"), from St. Petersburg - from Ladozhsky station (metro station "Ladozhskaya").

Bus number 704 runs from the Vologda bus station to Belozersk twice a day. The ride takes about four hours.
Step 5
If you prefer to travel by car, you also need to get to Vologda or Cherepovets. There are two roads leading from Vologda - through Kirillov and Cherepovets. Each option has its own advantages and disadvantages. The path through Kirillov is shorter, but the road is worse there. In addition, there are two ferry crossings on your way. But the places are very beautiful, and there are a lot of attractions. You can see the Kirillo-Belozersky Monastery and Ferapontovo. In addition, the crossing over the Sheksna - one of the widest and most beautiful rivers in Europe - is quite interesting. Going through Cherepovets, do not forget to stock up on fuel.

Belozersk is a large port, so in summer you can get there by water. For example, on a tourist boat along the White Sea-Baltic Canal. Navigation usually opens in May and ends in October, but of course it all depends on the weather conditions. Some cruise ships also enter Belozersk - however, their number is constantly decreasing, so this is not the most reliable route.
