The blue lake, shrouded in beautiful and mysterious legends, attracts tourists with its miraculousness and stunning water surface, reminiscent of a huge sapphire. Tourists go to Abkhazia to see this miracle of nature with their own eyes.
Instructions
Step 1
Blue Lake is located in a picturesque gorge, which is located on the right bank of the Bzyb River. It is enclosed in a rim of rocks and stones, which makes its piercing blue water even more vibrant and unusual. Even on the hottest summer days, the water temperature of the Blue Lake does not exceed 10 ° C, therefore it is not recommended to swim in it. In winter, the amazing lake never freezes, which is another mystery of the Blue Reservoir.
Step 2
The area of the lake is 180 square meters, and its bottom is covered with a thick layer of lapis lazuli deposits, which gives the water a rich blue color. The shores of the Blue Lake abruptly break off, so its depth is several tens of meters already at the very edge. Since light is not able to penetrate to such a depth, the water of the lake seems at first glance somewhat unclear. Despite its purity, Blue Lake is absolutely dead - there is no plankton, no aquatic plants, even the smallest fish. In addition, its surface is always calm, although the rapid flow of a large underground river flows into the lake.
Step 3
You can get to the Blue Lake by a special tour bus route from the Abkhaz station. The bus goes to its destination along the only strategic road of Abkhazia - Novorossiysko-Sukhum highway. After crossing the border, the bus travels through Gagra, reaching the high-mountainous lake Ritsa and the Ritsinskoye highway, which crosses Abkhazia almost across.
Step 4
During the trip along the Ritsinskoe highway, the excursion bus makes several stops, including near the Blue Lake, where tourists can enjoy a stunning view of this small but impressive reservoir. Then the bus will enter the Yupsharsky canyon, along the narrow bottom of which a part of the Ritsinskoye highway passes. The next stop will be at the intersection of the Yupshara river road, where tourists can see various artifacts and visit retail outlets, buying a souvenir as a keepsake. After a stop, the bus will drive along a serpentine road into the mountains and finally reach its final point of the route - the high-mountainous lake Ritsa, which is another Abkhaz landmark.
