The longest fountain in the world is considered to be an amazing landmark of Seoul - "Rainbow Fountain", which is located on the Banpo Bridge. The fountain is 1140 meters long. The water for this amazing sight is taken from the Hangang River, through which the bridge itself runs. At the moment, the "Rainbow Fountain" is listed in the Guinness Book of Records.
"Lunar rainbow", as the fountain is called otherwise, was opened in May 2009. A distinctive feature of the fountain is that the water rushes out not upwards, but sideways. It turns out that the waters of the fountain gush with their jets on both sides of the Banpo Bridge for over a kilometer. Water bursts out in jets 20 meters long. At the same time, every minute water consumption is 190 tons. The bridge has 9,380 nozzles that provide the length of the fountain. It is from these sprays that water flows from the sides of the bridge.
Banpo Bridge is built in two tiers. On the upper part there is traffic movement, and below there are viewing platforms for those who wish to enjoy the beauty of the escaping water from under the bridge. It is noteworthy that the fountain has a special lighting. 190 LEDs constantly change their color, giving the water jets different shades. That is why the fountain is called "Lunar rainbow".
The beauty of the "Rainbow Fountain" can also be enjoyed from the river bank, where special observation platforms are also arranged.
