Croatia is washed by the waves of the Adriatic Sea and is one of the ecologically clean European states. Before you go on a trip to this country, you need to get acquainted with its rules.

Instructions

Step 1

Smoking is prohibited in Croatian bars and restaurants, so those who have not yet given up this bad habit should go to specially designated smoking areas. If you absent-mindedly decide to take a smoke break, say, in a nightclub, you will have to deal with the local police and pay a fine.

Step 2

This country has relatively cheap wine, as well as very large portions of dishes on any menu. If you book a table for two, you can dine with one portion, having previously asked the waiter to bring another piece of equipment. In Croatia, you should definitely try seafood dishes, olive oil, pastries and, of course, homemade wine.

Step 3

In this country, it is customary to tip. Taxi drivers, service personnel in hotels and waiters in cafes are waiting for them. As in most other countries, such bonuses amount to about 10% of the account. In a good half of the bars and cafes, tips are already included in the bill.

Step 4

When shopping in many local shops for over 500 HRK, take receipts marked "Tax-Free". This is a kind of refund system, in which, having made the appropriate marks at the customs, you can return 22% of the purchase.

Step 5

Russian vacationers in Croatia are treated hospitably, do not refuse to communicate and easily make contact. Dealing with Croats will not be as easy as it seems at first glance, so take a phrasebook on your trip. Although the language barrier will collapse if you apply English - the locals know it quite well.

Step 6

On the coasts of Croatia, it is not customary to dress flashy or walk in evening dresses. And if you want to visit one of the famous nude beaches of this country, you don't need any clothes at all. By the way, on some of them the rules are so "harsh" that at the entrance you can see a sign signaling that it is strictly forbidden to enter the nude beach wearing clothes.
