Syktyvkar is a city in the Komi Republic, which is located at the confluence of the Sysola River into the large Vychegda River. This is a rather ancient city, the history of which began in the 16th century, when a group of Perm Komi settled here.

Step 1
It is clear that the fastest way to Syktyvkar is by plane. You can fly from Vnukovo airport with UTair, or you can use the services of Nordavia and Aeroflot, which take off from Sheremetyevo airport. The flight time will range, depending on the type of aircraft, from 1 hour 40 minutes to 1 hour 55 minutes.
Step 2
A convenient and relatively short journey to Syktyvkar can be made by long-distance train. Approximately once a day, the Moscow - Syktyvkar train leaves the Yaroslavl railway station in the Russian capital. The train arrives at the central railway station, which is located close to the city center. The road from Moscow to Syktyvkar by long-distance train will take about 25 hours.
Step 3
Buses from Moscow to Syktyvkar do not run. Still, the distance is not the smallest - 1500 kilometers. But you can get to Syktyvkar by car. It is necessary to leave Moscow and start moving along the m7 Volga highway past Noginsk, Pavlovsky Posad, Orekhovo-Zuevo. Then get to Vladimir, and shortly before Nizhniy Novgorod, leave the M7 Volga highway onto the Moskovskoe highway, drive along it and again continue along the M7 Volga highway. From Nizhniy Novgorod, take the M7 Volga highway to Cheboksary, then drive through Yoshkar-Ola, and then take the R-176 Vyatka highway to the vicinity of Kirov. You do not need to enter the city, you need to follow the signs for Syktyvkar along the R-176 Vyatka highway. The road will take from 14 to 16 hours. Unless, of course, there are big traffic jams.
Step 4
But there is also a second way from Moscow to Syktyvkar - through the Yaroslavl region. To do this, you need to drive from Moscow along the Yaroslavl highway through the settlements of Pereslavl-Zalessky, Rostov, Karabikha, take the M8 Kholmogory highway to Yaroslavl, and from there take a course to Kostroma. Then drive along the R-98 highway to Makariev, Manturovo, Znamenka, Sharya, Letka. Then go from the R-98 highway to the R-176 Vyatka highway and through Sloboda, Vizinga and Lezym to reach Syktyvkar. The road in this case will take from 12 to 15 hours. Again, everything will depend on the traffic situation.
