Be sure to exchange some of the dollars for Turkish lira when you are already there. If you shop in local markets or in shops, then pay with lira. It is customary to bargain in Turkey, but those who offer dollars for payment will never have their prices reduced by the same amount as those who have local currency with them.

When choosing an exchanger, be careful. Check the course at home, but in Turkey, do not run to the first place that comes along. The closer the exchanger is to the arrival area, the more expensive it is to buy local currency. So, the worst thing is to change your money at the airport or hotel. Also, try not to change money from your hands. Despite the lucrative courses offered by private money changers, they can cheat you, and even distract you, you will not notice anything. It is very convenient to take with you some of the funds directly on your bank card. You can pay with it almost everywhere, while the commission for transferring funds from the banks themselves is usually much less than the commission for withdrawing money.
