One of the most famous landmarks in Arizona is the Grand Canyon, or the Grand Canyon, which is located in the northwest of the state. Every year more and more tourists come here to see with their own eyes the beauty created by nature itself.
The canyon is one of the most mysterious and unusual corners of the planet. The four geological eras of the Earth are represented in this unique place in the form of fossils. The Grand Canyon is America's premier National Park.
The Grand Canyon was formed thanks to the Colorado River, which washed out softer rocks (sandstones, limestones), it was soil erosion. The whole process took about 10 million years.
The most visited region in the Canyon is the South Rim, and this is where all the observation decks are located. The rest of the Canyon is accessible for inspection only when walking along the hiking trails, therefore, apparently, they do not attract tourists so much.
How to get to the Grand Canyon?
Usually tourists prefer to stop in Las Vegas and from there get to the Canyon. This can be done in several ways:
- independently in a rented car;
- on a bus excursion trip - this method is usually cheaper than the others, moreover, tourists do not have to look for the right road, and the guide indicates the most interesting places for inspection;
- excursion by off-road vehicle - this kind is much more interesting than a usual walk by car, as it includes a descent to the Canyon and other benefits;
- a helicopter tour is perhaps the best option. Hikers can enjoy magnificent bird's-eye views of the Canyon.
Grand Canyon Observation Decks
The Grand Canyon National Park is equipped with a large number of playgrounds. One of the most expensive is Skywalk. It is a horseshoe-shaped platform with a glass floor, where you seem to float in the air. You will be especially impressed by a walk along the Heavenly Trail, which is represented by a glass bridge located at an altitude of 1219 meters.
