Big house
The main attraction of the estate is, of course, the Big House. This is the name of the manor house built by Vasily Dmitrievich Polenov himself. It was created according to the design of Polenov himself in 1892 on the highest hill of the estate. The house has three floors and now there is a unique opportunity to look at the interiors of the estate of those years. They are perfectly preserved. On the walls there are paintings by the artist himself, a collection of ceramics, furniture. And the opportunity to go to the window and see what inspired the master. The unhurried Oka, the coniferous forest that he planted himself, the garden path drowning in flowers …
Abbey
The second largest house in the estate is the Abbey. It is named so for its gothic appearance. But in fact, there was an artist's summer workshop. Family performances were staged there, and the props for them were kept. And most importantly, they showed the diorama. Polenov created a watercolor painting, which was placed between two glasses and "brought to life" with the help of light. The theme of the Polenov diorama is travel. Now the diorama is being shown in a boat shed - the Admiralty.
