Although the Moscow region is not famous for its steep mountains, there are still places for skiing there. But don't expect steep slopes and European-level tracks from them. Think of this vacation as just a rehearsal for good ski resorts.
Dmitrovskoe direction is not for nothing called "Switzerland near Moscow" - here the nature is similar and there are even mountains. It is along Dmitrovskoe highway that the largest concentration of ski resorts is located. For example, the resorts "Yakhroma" and the park "Volen", which are adjacent to each other. They are popular not only for their slopes and general infrastructure - hotels, restaurants and parking lots. The trails here are small, suitable for beginners, well lit in the dark. There are a lot of young people here because of the fairly affordable prices for lift services and rental.
Advanced skiers are better off visiting the Sorochany ski resort. There are ten slopes for all difficulty levels. The tracks are quite long. There are chairlifts, drag lifts, and a snow tubing lift. You can come on vacation with children, there is a playground, and a weekend training group is waiting for older children.
But the ski club of Nikolai Tyagachev is ready to accept everyone on its slopes - both children and novice skiers, and even Olympic champions. After all, this is the official training place for the Russian national skiing team. Therefore, be prepared for good runs, highly qualified instructors and a good mood.
For those living in the eastern part of Moscow, it will be easier and faster to get to Balashikha. The Lisya Gora ski resort operates there. The mountain, of course, is small, but just right for beginners. Professional skiers will not be interested here. But on the "Fox Mountain" you can spend a family weekend - there is a tubing slope, a cafe and a school for young skiers.
