Abkhazia is the best place for active recreation. Rafting is a kind of it, and there are enough mountain rivers in Abkhazia, for example, Bzyb or Kador. Rafting is also an extreme sport, but it appeared in Russia not so long ago.
Of course, if you choose from two seething rivers, Bzyb or Kador, then Bzyb most often serves as a river for rafting and is suitable for both beginners and experienced athletes. There are different stages of overcoming it, there are three of them in total. Difficulty varies from 1 to 6 according to the international classification.
The most dangerous is the first section, it begins at the Pskhu River. There are a lot of difficult thresholds on this interval and most of the people who wanted to overcome it did not cope with the task, and some attempts generally ended tragically. The second path begins where Bzyb and Gega meet, but because of the sharp rocks, the rafs are often torn. The third route is perhaps the most relaxed and safest. Its length is 11 kilometers. The path stretches along the Bzyb River and ends at the Black Sea. Most tourists choose this route, it is suitable for both beginners and amateurs, of course, if you are not a world-class athlete.
Before you decide to try this sport, you need to find a suitable and proven company that will serve as an organizer. Be sure to check the availability of certificates that allow you to conduct these events, pay attention to your protective equipment (these are uniforms, helmets, vests and paddles), each participant must have them.
