The results of surveys and studies carried out by different organizations are somewhat different, but nevertheless, with their help, it was possible to find out in which countries tourists prefer local cuisine in the first place. According to the results of a number of studies, including those carried out by CNN in conjunction with representatives of the Internet portal Hotels.com, Italian cuisine is in the first place. It is pasta, pizza and other national dishes of Italy that often attract tourists, moreover, experienced travelers sometimes argue that only in this country can you taste the best cheese or pasta dishes, and the Italian food that is served in restaurants in other countries is just a parody.
The second place was taken by exquisite French cuisine, which is loved by both Europeans and Asians. Among the 27 thousand surveyed tourists from all over the world, 24% preferred it. However, according to the results of studies carried out among Russians, the second place was taken by the national Russian and Ukrainian cuisine. By the way, although the local cuisine is very popular in Russia, only 8% of the foreigners surveyed expressed a desire to try its national dishes.
Despite the fact that the first two places are occupied by European dishes, Asian ones are also highly popular. In third place both in the world and in Russia was Japanese cuisine, and it is its dishes that some tourists who have visited the land of the rising sun prefer to eat. The fourth place, according to tourists, was taken by Chinese cuisine. Moreover, it turned out that the Asians themselves are also very fond of the national dishes of the neighboring countries and value them even higher than the Europeans.
Tourists have no love for American cuisine. According to the results obtained, only every 10th person in the world and every 20th in Russia agrees to eat traditional American hamburgers, fries, etc. However, there are also cuisines that are even less popular. Among them were Thai, Mexican, Taiwanese and Indian.
