A mysterious eastern country some thirty years ago was a desert with Bedouins, but in the 21st century, the United Arab Emirates is one of the most high-tech states. That, however, does not prevent its residents from honoring the centuries-old traditions that every tourist has to reckon with.

Step 1
The first rule for the United Arab Emirates is behavior dignified by its inhabitants. Be calm. Shouts, loud laughter, active gestures - all this will have to be left outside their country, or carefully hidden within the walls of your hotel room.
Step 2
Limit your drinking. The Emirates are actively fighting against the use and promotion of alcoholic beverages, its sale is prohibited almost throughout the country. The exceptions are some bars and restaurants, which are, in fact, exclusively for visitors. You can drink wine or something stronger in them, but at the right time they will simply stop pouring you.
Step 3
Do not appear in a society in a state of alcoholic intoxication. This point is especially important for Russian tourists who are accustomed to vacationing in Egypt and similar tourist countries that allow their visitors too much. In the United Arab Emirates, for drunken fun, you can not only be fined, but also arrested.
Step 4
Follow strict dress code guidelines. This point especially applies to women, who are treated differently in Arab countries than in the Western world. Be sure to cover your shoulders, legs above the knees, as well as the neckline. Regarding men, the rules are somewhat weakened, and in the city they can be in shorts. Naturally, the bans are lifted in the beach areas, but when leaving them you must again put on the appropriate outfit.
Step 5
Leave clothes that are overly tight and transparent at home. For a miscalculation in the choice of clothing before traveling to the Emirates, you can pay a harsh punishment, up to and including arrest.
