Going on a hike for the first time for a long time? Or do you just forget something every time? Let's try to put the backpack together.
Necessary
- Basic things:
- - backpack,
- - warm clothes,
- - Lightweight clothing,
- - tent,
- - sleeping bag,
- - tableware,
- - products,
- - first aid kit,
- - "individual" things.
Instructions
Step 1
We start collecting the backpack by first finding the backpack itself. If you don't have it yet, get it. Choose a backpack of such a size that all the collected things can fit in it, and preferably a little with a margin. Backpack capacity is indicated in liters. For the volume listed above, you need a backpack with a size of about 100 liters or more. If you are going with your family (relatives, friends), and only 1 person carries a tent, tourist rugs, then the rest of the backpacks may be smaller.
Choose a backpack with padded, wide shoulder straps that can be adjusted and pulled up. Try to choose a backpack with a padded hip belt and a chest strap. This will distribute the weight of the backpack, making it easier for your shoulders and back. The back should be soft, anatomically shaped, with air channels so that the back does not get too hot. The more different loops, zip ties, clamps on the backpack, the better. You can fix everything in them, starting with a rug, ending with bottles, flashlights, carabiners.
Step 2
So, we open the backpack. What to put first? There are several options here. Let's name only three. The first and most commonly used: heavy down, light up. Canned food, carbines, pots and everything that weighs a lot with a small volume are put down. The second option, which I prefer: the travel mat is rolled up like a roll, inserted into the backpack and straightened so that the mat repeats inside the wall of the backpack. So the backpack will be even, soft on all sides, the rug does not have to cling to the top or bottom of the backpack. And the third option: the sleeping bag is laid down and compacted very tightly (even with feet).
Step 3
Next, we put it in the order in which it will be easier for you to get it later. Imagine that you are stopping for a halt. You probably want to change clothes that are wet from the heat or rain, so we put it in accessible places: pockets, a flap, or just the top of a backpack. I wanted to have a snack: the logic is the same. Imagine that you have already arrived at the site. As a rule, if you walk for a long time to the place (10-30 km), the first thing the tour group wants to do is have lunch, and only then start arranging the camp. So you need dishes, food. If you put canned food, cereals and the pot down, then you will have to shake out the entire backpack. This is a disadvantage of the "heavy down" method. So put the food up the first time and the rest down. You will most likely need your sleeping bag and tent last, and place them below.
Step 4
The first aid kit should be in an easily accessible place. In the first-aid kit, be sure to put cotton wool, an antiseptic (for example, alcohol, preferably iodine), a bandage, an anesthetic, a light cream that is suitable for treating burns, or a special tool. It is advisable to put a minimum set for colds: unfortunately, sleeping on cold ground can have its consequences. Remedy for ticks and mosquitoes. Remember that only clothes are treated with tick repellent and this is done in advance.
Take an antiviral drug with you, which must be taken on the very first day if you or someone from the group has been bitten by a tick, and the city is far away.
Take the seat point. They are usually fixed with fastexes. It is needed so that you can sit down anywhere and anytime with warmth and comfort.
It is advisable, although not necessary, to bring a pair of regular cloth gloves. They are convenient to use when removing pots from the fire, as well as when working with firewood.
Step 5
There are a lot of bedrooms. Choose a sleeping bag according to the weather conditions. On sleeping bags, as a rule, it is indicated by a comfortable temperature and extreme. Take it easy, choose a sleeping bag at a colder temperature than expected at night. Better to be hot than cold. Downy sleeping bags are susceptible to moisture, so they are taken on winter hikes. For other seasons, sleeping bags on holofiber, thermofiber are quite suitable (they cost a little more than sleeping bags on synthetic winterizer, but they are an order of magnitude warmer). There are two types of sleeping bags: a cocoon and a blanket. A blanket sleeping bag can be unfastened on all sides except one, so it can take the form of a blanket (you can wrap it up around a fire or spread it on the grass), and more importantly, it can be fastened with another blanket sleeping bag (which is convenient if you are traveling with your spouse / spouse or child). The cocoon is warmer than a blanket and more comfortable due to its anatomical shape.
Step 6
The dishes should not be fragile and compactly folded. For such cases, there are metal dishes and folding cutlery. In such a container, you can immediately reheat food and water over a fire. For the convenience of memorization, there is a "formula": KLMN (mug, spoon, bowl, knife).
Choose your individual accessories according to you. Brush, soap, paste, toilet paper. Do not take a whole package of all kinds of jars and products. Make-up outdoors will only interfere, and you won't have to devote a lot of time to self-care - all the amenities are on the street.
Step 7
Pay attention to your clothing. It is advisable to take 2-3 sets. One is obligatory, warm. This is a T-shirt (with long sleeves), a warm jacket, trousers (wide, comfortable, warm), warm woolen socks, cotton socks, a windbreaker, it is advisable for girls to take tights or leggings. In cold weather (autumn, spring), take a comfortable but small jacket with you. Shoes are comfortable, well-worn, preferably waterproof. There are special trekking boots.
A light set is designed for the summer or for sleeping in a sleeping bag: another T-shirt, shorts (if there are few mosquitoes and it is hot), light shoes (sneakers, light sneakers), socks, a cap / panama hat, a mosquito net.
Step 8
Do not take a lot of food, remember that you are going to relax and enjoy nature, not cakes and buns. Take non-perishable food:
- canned food (meat, fish, vegetables), it is convenient to have a snack with them and add to the main dish;
- cereals, pasta. Try to calculate how much you need to take with you, so as not to carry too much, but taking into account that after a long walk and in the fresh air, you want to eat more. For example, a portion of buckwheat porridge needs 90-100g. cereals;
- bread, tightly packed in a bag so as not to get wet;
- tea, coffee, sweets (don't take too much), dried fruits;
- potatoes, cucumbers (on the first day),
- accompanying: salt, sugar, oil.
For a snack, nuts, hard vegetables, boiled eggs, and canned food are great.
