The mysterious rainy Great Britain is a cherished travel destination for many. However, getting to foggy Albion is not easy: to get to the island state, you must not only cross the English Channel, but also withstand strict checks when obtaining a visa.

Step 1
It will not be possible to obtain a visa separately to England, since it is located on the territory of the United Kingdom - the United Kingdom, which, in addition to England, includes Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
There are 5 UK visa centers operating on the territory of the Russian Federation: in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg and Rostov-on-Don. Depending on the place of your registration, you are tied to one or another visa center (closest to your city). You need to submit documents, fill out questionnaires and submit biometric data at this address.
Step 2
Contact the Visa Application Center to clarify the documents required for obtaining a visa. As a rule, the standard package of documents includes:
- a foreign passport with a free page for obtaining a visa;
-a form filled out on the website of the consulate or at the visa center (submitted online and printed separately for submitting a package of documents);
-color photograph of sizes 3, 5 by 4, 5 cm, taken no earlier than half a year before the submission of documents. The photo must be taken against a light cream or light gray background. Your face should not be covered with hair or glasses; photo paper should not create glare;
-payment of the consular fee. For a standard six-month visa, this amount is 3570 rubles. Additional "bonuses" that make it easier to obtain a visa will be documents confirming your well-being in Russia: certificates from the place of work and study, the presence of a bank account and real estate. The more reasons you have to return to Russia, the more likely you will be given a visa. Additional advantages are closed English visas. Before submitting documents, check the information on the consulate website: it may change and your documents will not work.
Step 3
Make an appointment at the Visa Application Center by phone or on the official website. Please arrive at your appointment 15 minutes before the scheduled time. At the Visa Application Center you submit your documents and biometric materials: the UK asks for your fingerprints. There you make an appointment with the consul: the English consulate requires a personal submission of documents, avoiding intermediaries.
Step 4
A short-term visa is issued within 5-15 working days, an application for a six-month UK visa is processed within 28 days.
