Step 1
There is no airport near Uglich. The nearest is located 90 km away in Yaroslavl (Tunoshna). Therefore, the most convenient way to get there is by land transport. The city can be reached by the recently launched Moscow - Uglich train, which leaves from the Belorussky railway station three times a week. The way to the station "Uglich" will take 6 hours 20 minutes.
There is also an option to get to Uglich with a transfer. To do this, you need to take the Moscow - Rybinsk train, which also leaves the Belorussky railway station, and get to the Sonkovo station. And then from the stop "Vokzal" either by bus number 24, or by minibus, get to Uglich. It is clear that the transfer will affect the time and this journey will take at least 7 and a half hours in total.
Step 2
As for buses, there are more options. You can take the Moscow - Uglich flight from the Botanichesky Sad metro station, you can take the same flight by taking a bus at the VDNKh metro station. You can also get to Uglich from the Shchelkovo bus station. In all three cases, the journey will take 5 to 7 hours. It all depends on the situation on the roads and on the number of traffic jams when leaving the Russian capital.
Step 3
It is convenient to travel from Moscow to Uglich by car. It is necessary to leave Moscow on the M8 Kholmogory highway and go in the direction of Sergiev Posad. Before Sergiev Posad, at the fork, turn left onto Moskovskoe highway, and after 12 kilometers turn left again onto Novouglichskoe highway, then exit onto the P-104 highway. After 150 kilometers along Р-104, go to the right onto Rostov highway. After driving along the Rostov highway for two and a half kilometers, the car will enter Uglich. The whole journey will take at least 4 hours.
Step 4
There is also a second way to travel from Moscow to Uglich by car. We need to go to Dmitrovskoe highway, which after a few kilometers will smoothly move to the A104 highway and go to Dmitrov. In Dmitrov, turn towards the sign to the city of Taldom and follow the A104 highway in the direction of the village of Kvashonki. Then turn right to Spas-Ugol, and then take the P104 highway in the direction of the town of Kalyazin. After Kalyazin, follow the same route to Uglich. This way, if there are no big traffic jams at the exit from Moscow, will take no more than 3 and a half hours.
Step 5
There is another way to get to Uglich - a river cruise along the Volga. During the navigation period, a motor ship departs from the Northern River Station in Moscow and reaches Uglich in 12 hours.
