Latvia is a member of the Schengen countries. Therefore, if you have a valid multiple-entry Schengen visa, you can enter this Baltic country. If you do not have such a document, then you will have to apply for it to the consular section of the Latvian Embassy in Moscow, to the General Latvian Consulate in St. Petersburg or to the Consulate General of the Republic of Hungary in Yekaterinburg.

Step 1
To obtain a visa, you need to collect a package of documents. You must have an invitation from a Latvian citizen if you are traveling privately.

In the event that you used the services of an agency, take care of the hotel reservation or the voucher of the travel company.

The package of documents also includes a foreign passport, which must be valid three months after the end of your trip. In the event that you have an old passport, you must provide it as well.

Include a Russian passport as well as photocopies of all marked pages. Take a certificate from the place of work indicating the salary and position. It should be on the company's letterhead.

At the consulate, receive a questionnaire and fill it out in English, without skipping the columns, instead of a dash, you must write "no". If you are going to travel with children who have their own foreign passport, then a separate application form is also filled out for them.

In addition to documents and a completed application form, you must bring two photographs of 3.5 x 4.5 mm, as well as an insurance policy of the company that is accredited in the Latvian consulate, or buy insurance directly on the territory of the consulate from an accredited insurance company.

You can apply for a visa either personally or by entrusting it to a relative, in this case you need a notarized permission to carry out these actions. In order to apply for a visa for close relatives, for example, for parents or children, you do not need permission. There is no entry to the consulate, there is a live queue.
Step 8
The consular fee is paid at the consulate, its value depends on the type of visa and the duration - from 35 to 90 euros.
Step 9
As a rule, after submitting the documents and paying the visa fee, it remains to wait from seven to ten working days before receiving. If you need an urgent or transit visa, it can be issued within 24 hours.
