Step 1
First, you need to collect the required package of documents. You will need a passport, which expires no earlier than 3 months after the expiration of the guest visa, a photocopy of the first page of the passport, 3 color photographs 35x45 mm, a civil passport, a completed exit form, visa fee, health insurance policy, photocopy of the policy, as well as documents confirming financial viability and guaranteeing a return to Russia. The health insurance policy must be valid in all Schengen countries. To prove your financial viability, you must show traveler's checks or bank statement. Thus, you prove that you have enough money to travel (at least 50 euros per day per person), while the cash itself is not evidence, only documents are needed. A guarantee of your return to Russia can be a certificate from the place of study or work, a certificate of registration of an individual entrepreneur, documents confirming ownership of real estate, a marriage certificate or a birth certificate of children.
Step 2
You will also need the original and photocopy of the invitation from the person you are traveling to, with an exact indication of the duration of the trip and the location. The inviting person, according to this document, assumes all costs that may arise during your stay in Germany. A photocopy of the inviter's passport must be attached to the invitation-obligation; the signature on the document must be notarized.
Step 3
After collecting all the necessary package of documents, call the German Embassy and make an appointment. At the appointed time, come to the embassy with the documents. After waiting for your turn, submit the documents for verification. If everything is in order, your documents will be taken and told exactly when you need to come for a ready-made guest visa. As a rule, it takes 1-2 days for registration.
