Today Bulgaria is one of the most popular holiday destinations for our compatriots. It attracts sandy beaches, mild climate, quality food, as well as huge portions in restaurants at their low cost. Travel agencies offer many trips to this country. But if the cost of such a vacation is too expensive for you, you can save a lot by planning your trip yourself.
First of all, you need to take care of the visa. It should be remembered that you can enter Bulgaria on a Schengen visa or, if there is no such visa, you need to make a Bulgarian tourist visa. The cheapest way to make a visa yourself is through the Bulgarian Embassy, which is located in Moscow on Mosfilmovskaya Street. You should plan your vacation in advance, then you can significantly reduce costs. When choosing a travel date, you need to take into account that there are several seasons in Bulgaria: low season (May, early June, late August, early September), high season (late June, July, early August). Accommodation prices are cheaper in low season. Apartments should be rented for living. Price for a studio - 35 euros, for a one-bedroom apartment - 40 euros per day, 150 meters from the beach. All apartments have kitchens, so you can save a lot on breakfasts and possibly dinners, and sometimes lunches. From personal experience, it is better to rent apartments from Russia in advance. It is almost impossible to find a good apartment at a low price closer to the season. After choosing an apartment and deciding on the date of the trip, you need to take care of the travel. There are several options: travel by car, train, plane. If you are eating for more than two to three weeks and there are more than two of you, you can choose to travel by car. If your trip is short-term it is better to choose a plane. Flights on charter flights are cheaper. You can buy such tickets on travel sites and travel agencies. After planning your trip, you need to go to the insurance company and take out medical insurance, as well as insurance for the car or "green card". Medical care in Bulgaria is quite expensive. When leaving, exchange rubles for euros. Although in Bulgaria they are willing to exchange rubles for the local currency, the Bulgarian lev, the exchange rate is not quite profitable, especially in the season.
