- - knowledge of the Hebrew language.
Instructions
Step 1
Since the beginning of the existence of the State of Israel, the Law of Return has been in force in it, according to which any Jew can move to this country without any problems. There is usually only one point of difficulty: who can be considered a Jew? According to tradition and official policy, nationality is passed down through the maternal line. In practice, it is often enough that the maternal grandfather or grandmother is Jewish. Also, under certain conditions, any person who converted to Judaism is considered a Jew.
Step 2
To move under the law on repatriation, you need to prepare a package of documents: your birth certificate, certificates of parents, grandparents (evidence that a person is a Jew by nationality). An important point is the absence of a criminal record. Officially, the requirement is to substantiate the reasons for the move, since an interview is being conducted. In practice, it is enough to say that you just want to live in a developed country, honestly pay taxes, and so on. For repatriation, it is not necessary to renounce your existing citizenship. The application for repatriation to Israel is submitted in Russia.
Step 3
Business emigration, when a person receives the right to live through investments in the country's economy, is not provided in Israel. There are extremely rare exceptions when a person offers something beneficial directly to Israel. This issue is considered individually, the chance is rather small. In this case, citizenship is considered granted.
Step 4
Marriage is one of the easiest ways to obtain Israeli citizenship if the person is not Jewish by nationality. The marriage must be contracted abroad, as in Israel, marriages between Jews and non-Jews are not registered. Then you should enter Israel on a tourist visa, collect a package of documents, the full list can be clarified with the country's Ministry of Internal Affairs (and it is better to do this in advance). After that, the applicant will be issued a tourist visa for six months, it is already possible to work on it. Then a temporary identity card is issued, which gives the status of a resident. The procedure for obtaining citizenship after that will last 5 years, during which you need to constantly go to different authorities and confirm that the marriage is not fictitious.
Step 5
According to the laws of Israel, there is a way to obtain citizenship by naturalization, but for this you need to have a justification to stay in the country legally for 5 years, during which this procedure lasts. It is also necessary to have already lived in the country for 3 years legally before the application was submitted. To apply for citizenship, you will need to renounce your previous citizenship in writing, and also show documents confirming that the refusal was successful. There should be conditions that will allow a person to settle in the country (for example, property, work, family ties, and so on). It is imperative to master Hebrew. The required level of knowledge is not specified anywhere, but in practice it is enough to know the language at the ulpan level.
