The Russian Federation is an attractive country for residents of the neighboring countries. Many of the CIS residents dream of obtaining an official place of residence and employment in Russia. For those who are planning to move to Russia for permanent residence in the near future, it is recommended that you familiarize yourself with all the nuances of the accompanying legal procedures in advance.
Instructions
Step 1
Get a residence permit in the Russian Federation. A residence permit is required for foreigners who have been living in the country for more than a year. It is issued for 5 years, however, obtaining it is not such an easy process. You can use the services of legal offices, or you can collect all the necessary documents yourself, which are individual for each country. For citizens of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, obtaining a residence permit is easier. It is necessary to obtain in your country a stamp on leaving Russia for permanent residence and a departure sheet. However, it should be noted here that this option is only suitable for those who were born on the territory of Russia or have direct relatives (mother, father, sister, brother, husband, wife), citizens of the Russian Federation.
Step 2
Obtain citizenship of the Russian Federation. The main criterion for obtaining Russian citizenship is official residence in the country for 5 years. If you have previously received a residence permit and have lived these 5 years on the territory of Russia, you can safely apply for obtaining Russian citizenship. The decision will be made within one year from the date of submission of all correct documents to the FMS. The period of residence in the Russian Federation for obtaining citizenship can be reduced to 1 year or even withdrawn - for a separate category of foreigners established by article 13 of the federal law.
Step 3
Take advantage of obtaining citizenship in a simplified manner. It is quite possible that you are eligible for Russian citizenship under a simplified scheme. It consists in the fact that you do not need to previously reside in the country for 5 years and the period for consideration of the application is reduced to 6 months. Obtaining in a simplified manner is valid for those who have a parent - a citizen of the Russian Federation permanently residing in the country; subjects who lived in the countries of the former USSR and did not receive citizenship there; as well as those who have received secondary or higher professional education in Russia. In addition, in a simplified manner, persons who have a child - a citizen of the Russian Federation or a spouse - a citizen of the Russian Federation, obtain citizenship, provided that they have been married for at least 3 years.
