Kislovodsk is a small but full of sights Russian city in the Stavropol Territory. Its full name is “Urban Okrug Kislovodsk Resort City”. The city is also part of the eco-resort region "Caucasian Mineral Waters". What sights can a tourist who comes to Kislovodsk find?
Instructions
Step 1
Very interesting and impressive is the Narzan Gallery, built by foreign architects in the 40-50s of the 19th century in the English spirit. On its territory there are the so-called "Boiling Well", where you can collect healing mineral water, as well as a large spa library with a reading room. Visitors to the Narzan Gallery can not only improve their health, read a book, but also take a walk through it.
Step 2
The famous Main Narzan Baths of Kislovodsk, the building of which is made in the oriental style and repeats the high mountain spurs with its contours, are also connected with the healing springs. Due to the fact that the terrain under the narzan baths is heterogeneous, the northern wing of the building is slightly raised due to the higher foundation, to which a staircase with graceful railings is attached. The baths are an architectural monument of federal significance with a memorial plaque “Designed and built by engineer A. N. Klepinin. 1901-1903.
Step 3
The Kislovodsk Colonnade at the entrance to the large resort park, which is a kind of visiting card of the city, is also interesting. In both tiers there are Corinthian columns supporting the flat roof. Initially, the ground floor was supposed to house a summer restaurant, but this site is currently empty. The date of the construction of the Kislovodsk Colonnade is 1912, in honor of the centenary of the victory over Napoleon.
Step 4
The oldest part of Kislovodsk is called the City Fortress, from which the resort itself began. A gate, one of the walls with loopholes, and a corner tower have survived to this day. Historians consider the fortress a wonderful example of Russian fortification art. Now on its territory the Kislovodsk Museum of History and Local Lore "Fortress" is located and receives guests.
Step 5
The Cascade Staircase, built in the mid-30s of the 20th century, is also interesting for viewing. Its material is dolomitized limestone (only a small part of the staircase in the 70s was replaced by more durable concrete slabs). The authors of the Cascade Staircase are L. S. Zaleskaya and K. A. Shevchenko - they perfectly fit it into the existing landscape of this place with a large number of rounded reservoirs, weeping willows and mountain ash.
Step 6
Every year receives a large number of visitors and the house of F. I. Chaliapin, who came several times to rest and undergo medical treatment in Kislovodsk. On the tourist map of the city, it appears as "Shalyapin's dacha". The house was built in the then fashionable Art Nouveau style, and the original interiors with paintings by the artist K. Korovin have survived to this day.
