If you want to extend the summer period, then it's time to go to Spain. This country is rich in places for both a beach holiday and an educational one. Here you can usefully spend time and get a lot of pleasant and interesting impressions.
But where exactly to go? This question may arise if you do not know about a place like Costa Dorada. "Gold Coast" - this is how this name is translated from Spanish, and it really is. Gold is not mined in these places, but local beaches have a golden tint, as the yellow clean sand resembles this noble metal. Sandy beaches are not the only thing that Costa Dorada can boast of. People have lived here for many centuries, and during this time a large number of historical and architectural monuments have appeared on the territory of the town.
What you can see
You can get to the Costa Dorada by plane that arrives at Barcelona airport. From this city you can start exploring local attractions. There are enough beautiful and interesting buildings here, as the city is quite old. In addition, do not forget that the famous architect Antoni Gaudi lived in this city, whose works resemble a fairy tale that has come to life.
Casa Batlló or Casa Mila, these buildings cannot leave a tourist indifferent. A house without corners and a fabulous palace, this is how these buildings can be characterized. But the main hallmark of Barcelona is a completely different miracle performed by the famous architect. This is the Sagrada Familia, which was built during Antonio's lifetime for 43 years. But the accident tragically cut short Gaudi's life, and he never saw his creation in all its glory. Despite the finished appearance, construction work continues to this day.
Southern beauty
Heading south, you can reach the ancient capital of Iberia, the city of Tarragona. There is also something to turn your attention to. For a long time, the city was part of the Roman Empire, and this is evidenced by the wall of the old fortress, which protected the townspeople from various raids. Although many centuries have passed since then, the fortress wall has not lost its impressive appearance.
The 12-meter walls stretch for a distance of 1,100 meters. Observation towers are located along the wall, from which observation was previously conducted, and enemy attacks were repelled.
Having been in Tarragona, one cannot but visit the Cathedral of Santa Maria. It is the largest cathedral in all of Spain. Built during the Middle Ages, it has not lost its majestic appearance and today commands respect.
Children will not be bored either
But Costa Dorada is also a place for entertainment. This is evidenced by an amusement park called PortAventura. There is entertainment for all ages, as the park is divided into thematic sectors, each of which is designed for certain age categories. Therefore, you can come here even with the smallest children.
