Bucharest can be called one of the most beautiful cities in Romania. This city is the most numerous in the entire southeastern part of Europe. But he was not very lucky with the management: after the earthquake in 1977, half of the city was simply razed to the ground, and instead of beautiful historical and cultural sites, identical and boring houses were erected. However, even now tourists can look at some of the sights of the Romanian capital.
One of the main attractions of Bucharest is the Palace of the Parliament. It is made in the style of bulkiness and pretentiousness, although many of the columns give it an antique sophistication. If you go a little further, then the Arc de Triomphe will attract attention. In fact, arches of this type are all somewhat similar to each other, a distinctive feature can only be called the material in which the Bucharest arch is made - devian granite. In addition, the arch provides access to the observation deck, which offers a truly beautiful view of the city.
In contrast to the new buildings, the Kurtea Veche complex in Bucharest stands out. It was built at the end of the 15th century. The complex is a former residence of the rulers of Romania and utility rooms.
Another attraction of Bucharest is the Romanian Athenaeum Concert Hall, which continues its activities and pleases visitors with theatrical performances and concerts.
The current residence of the President of Romania is the Cotroceni Palace. It was built in a peculiar style called the Brankovyan style. In addition to the presidential residence, this palace houses a museum capable of presenting various exhibits of Romanian art to the viewer.
There are several amazing and beautiful parks in Bucharest. Thus, the majestic Herastrau Park is located around Lake Herastrau. Previously, it even had a statue of Stalin. Among other parks, one can highlight the Bucharest Botanical Garden, which houses an amazing museum, where you can see more than five thousand plants.
The Museum of the Peasant can be singled out separately. In 1996, the Bucharest Museum of the Romanian Peasant received an award for the best museum in Europe.
